2007 dates?

Postby Andy C » Sat 25.03.2006, 01:26

Planning a UK trip in March 2007 ... would really like to arrange it so it coincides with Donington. Do we have confirmed dates for next year so I can book flights n stuff? ... gotta get in early if I want to use some of my 500,000 frequent flyer points.

Shame it won't be in the summer !!!

Really, Donington is getting too small for the size of the event now, perhaps they should consider an outdoor event in the summer ?

Mention it to Club Lotus not here!

Personally I don't think it was getting over crowded. Perhaps a larger Lotus only carpark is required though. It's better to have a busy feel than empty. I think this years was especially busy as it was CL's 50th Anniversary. Blame the LEC stall for being crammed in when the venue was already oversubscribed! :-D

The other issue you will be up against is the long standing relationship between Donington and Club Lotus and the well known traditional 'Donington Lotus Show'.

As for time of year I too think it would be best in Summer and is worth asking why they choose March.

I expect that is because it is a heck of a lot cheaper to rent Donington outside the motor racing season, hence if it was elsewhere that might not be an issue. Still we are powerless in all this :(

Crud!

I'm due at a wedding that week in March, in Florida of all places.

Might be possible to do Donington on Saturday and fly out Sunday, but I'm not sure management are going to be too keen.

Sod sod sod

Hey Andy

I'll help you use up those points :) if you want to get me a ticket it's only 110,000 points to the UK ;-)

I could always meet the Elise guys and listen to them complain about all the Elans in the car park :-D
