Jim Clark 13-14 May Duns. Scot Borders.

Postby Scott J » Tue 11.04.2006, 15:20

Club Lotus are once again holding the Jim Clark remembrance weekend in the vicinity of Duns and Chirnside.

Rambo,

any of you easties fancy it ? Dont fancy a BnB in Duns but do you know of any decent campsites in the area, preferably with real ale pubs on hand. Eyemouth has a good chippie but I'm not so sure of the campsite. Looks fine but on top of a cliff so may get blown off by a North Sea gale.

Grahame? Stiffy boy ? Prestwick Dave ? where are you all hiding ?

Not sure of any campsites in that neck of the woods Scott but I know that Eyemooth's a bit rough at night. Dependent on whether I can get a pass out, I may go. Some bits sound a bit formal for me though. Will get further details from Bob Dickson tonight at Bo'ness

It's the formal bits I was trying to avoid. If we get a group along we can do the hooligan bits in our mean machines, then hit a campsite for some rowdy whisky sampling at night.

Alterenatively we just have a rowdy Sat drive then go home at night.

Which day are you intending to go Scott - Sat or Sun ??

No luck on campsites in Duns area so far so it could be a day trip and no overnight bevvy session. Will check out Eyemouth - bit rough after sundown but great harbour/fish and chips

Perhaps you can persuade Henry (HGRACER) to come with his new toy ?? The more the merrier

Archie,

I'm going on Sat. - weather sunny and 10C. Think Scott may be driving down ??

What time are you heading off ?? I think the agenda is 11am outside the Jim Clark museum in Duns for a photo shoot then straight to the Black Bull for lunch and pints. After that a convoy through Duns and then on to the airfields where he honed his driving skills. I think I'll be coming back late pm
