Postby RatHead » Sat 11.03.2006, 16:44

Im trying to sort my avatar out but i dont seem to be able to get it small enough. the max size is 150 x 150 pixels and no more than 10kb. no matter how much i shrink it it wont go below 10 kb.
any ideas?

well, if ya emailed it to me I could probably make it happen.

one trick I used to use was to upload any size picture to yahoo picture album and it makes an instant thumbnail that is small enough to use . . . or something like that could do it for you.

Another tool to use is Irfanview. You can resave a picture after resizing it - make sure the "preserve aspect ratio" box is checked. Irfanview is free, and it does all sorts of image conversions.

Looks like someone pinched your avatar :-D

If you right mouse over his/your avatar, you have the option to save it on your pc - then upload to LEC.

Open it with IrfanView.

From the Menu, Image -> Resize/Resample and set the height to 120.

Save it as a GIF file.

Right Click on the file, select Properties from the pop up menu and make sure that the file is less than 10K in size.

If you have any problems, PM me with your email address and I will send it to you.
