Rob

We'll have to arrange an RV before going over to Great Whitley...

Perhaps we should discuss the matter over a beer, beforehand?

Well, a Saturday evening pint or six might work...

Hi Rob

Yes it is still on. It went quiet because I have been away on hol.

10:30 start from the Hundred House, arrive earlier for coffee and route chat. I should be there at about 09:45.

If the forecast is to be believed and given the fact that I have no form of roof (soft or hard) fitted to the car at the moment; the chances of you seeing me at the run on Sunday are slim, at best.

The forecast does look rather wet.

What do you think, Geoff?
Should we try an alternative date?

I am happy for a date change if everyone agrees. However I am only free on Sunday 28th or Monday 29th and then my next free Sunday is not until August 6th.
The only slight problem I can foresee for the 28/29th is getting a booking for lunch as it is a holiday weekend.

We need to make a decision quickly for me to change the booking.

Geoff

I too can do 28th or 29th, if it suits you & the others to change.

Geoff

thanks for the phonecall last night, I didn't realise there was some support for a date change.I'll do some more forecast hunting at lunchtime and speak to my Elan owning mate this evening...

A West Midlands Sunday Drive in May

Postby niall » Fri 19.05.2006, 07:53

Thanks for the call Geoff.
I also share the forebodings as to the weather but will fall in with whatever the consensus turns out to be although I will not be available for the 28th-29th week-end.
Perhaps later in the year would give a ( slightly ) better chance of top-down weather?

So far, I can find no forecast that suggests anything other than rain, all day for this Sunday.

P.S. I'm having an early lunch!

Geoff

I've spoken to Jason already and we're agreed - it's a no-go this w/e on meteorological grounds.

I'll try to fit in with whatever alternatives you guys come up with.

Concensus is that because of the weather we postpone the run until Monday 29th, if Sy and Jason can make that date there will be 5 cars.

Unfortunately, the lunch stop hotel does not serve lunches on Bank Holidays.

I suggest that we do the run in the opposite direction and call at Elan village for lunch, it would be best to take a picnic as I am not sure what the food situation is like in the Visitor Centre. I will try to sort a place out for an afternoon coffee stop.

All those in agreement say AYE. :D
