Today at Murray Lotus, Edinburgh - silver SE (J57 UNB) In for new piston rings and engine rebuild due to burning lots if oil. Don't think it was Billy's Beast but the owner came from Fife. No sign of an LEC sticker on the window but a PM sticker on the rear screen.

Timmo,

Never give up

"surely from this period of ten months this is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy. We stood all alone a year ago, and to many countries it seemed that our account was closed, we were finished. All this tradition of ours, our songs, our School history, this part of the history of this country, were gone and finished and liquidated." [ - W.S.Churchill Oct 1941 Harrow School]

low rider

Postby Jeffbro » Sat 27.05.2006, 09:06

He he he! I'd love it to have that lower stance as normal but alas the reason she was so low is the simple fact she was carrying my mountain bike, tools, clothing and equipment for a four day 200k off road mtb tour of the Caingorms! My idea of a good w-end :-D

First Elan I've seen since I bought mine nearly 3 weeks ago, whereas every other car I considered ...... dozens. Good choice I reckon and I'm chuffed to be associated with such a select group of discerning individuals.

Hey... I think I've been spotted. First time of checked this thread.
Geoff, My wife works at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham. Don't know if it was mine as the campus is bloody huge but I regularly give her lifts to and from work. Live just down the road in Swindon.

Calypso Red (originally, but now metallic red respray) 1990 SE

Even if it wasn't me, we can pretend just so we keep believing in the possibilities.

Also spotted another SE about two weeks ago in Cirencester. Followed him out of the Tesco carpark and had a little blip of a sprint from the round-a-bout. Baseball capped gent was driving as I remember. Both had our hoods up as it was pissing down.

8.45am, Thursday 1st June, BRG turning off the main Sandhurst High Street. I might see if it lives up the side road as I'm keen to have a closer look at that particular colour.
Regards

I wear a baseball cap half the time myself so it wasn't a slur. Covers up the unkemp thinning hair... In my case that is

The front plate is off (in the windscreen) as I'd just had a complete respray done and wanted to get new plates to finish the job. Only prob was I had the old style V5 which isn't acceptable anymore, so was just waiting for that to come back. New plates all fitted now.

Wheels are 17's. Fit perfectly for clearance. Not the optimum offset but haven't had any undue probs with them. Little bit of unrest over very bumpy roads due to the low profiles etc.

Got a big programme of work for her which I'm midway through.

First point was the respray and refurbed wheels
All the suspension has been done, new font TCAs, hammerited all round.
Now onto the servicing. Waiting for parts to arrive from all over.
Uprated brakes when Brian (F1 Lotus) has chance to make up the brackets
New Clutch
Then maybe an Everest chip to make the most of the engine.

We'll have to catch up some time over a drink Dan. Don't see many of us around these parts so I was pleasantly chuffed to catch site of you. My parents live down the road at Cricklade and we're over in Swindon. Thankfully the wife loves the little car too.
