It doesn't look as though there'll be a convoy from the Midlands this year. I'm still up for driving down Saturday morning though. I expect to hit the M5 (J1) at around 8:30.

phewwwwww just got back. Very very wet day, well the pm anyway. Enjoyed my pax laps with nige. his what looks like semi slick tyres had remarkable grip, well lets say more grip than the elises. On seeing an elise spin in front of us and disappear into a field so you could just see the roof above the crop was a bit scary. No harm done though except for clogging up the wheel archs with mud. Nige hope you got some decent video in the end. Please bring it along to H&C in its raw state if necessary. CC is a great circuit would love to give it a go sometime.

Nice to meet you Geoff but sad not to see sy's posse. Heard about the traffic on the M5 so can understand.

Good to meet you Nige and see you briefly Chris. Glad we had a tour around the car park otherwise we would have left, not met up and missed the parade lap. What a fantastic experience, even in the rain. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be sorely tempted to book some laps next year. Sorry we couldn't hang around, but we were in trouble for being late already - maybe I'll get the right day next year!

Sorry the weather didn't hold for you in the afternoon; if it had looked better, we might have made it back, but it looked pretty grim where we are.

I've just watched the video and it's spoiled a bit by the rain on the windscreen and the screech of the wipers. You should have left the hood down Nige (fair weather racer?); it was fine once we got going although the video ended up with plenty of water droplets on the lens at the end.

Hope to meet up again soon and good luck with the weather for tomorrow.

A fun day in spite of the weather. The benefits of FWD were obvious in the wet with a V8 Esprit along with a slack handfull of handbag carrying Elises amongst the scalps! Wasn't prepared to do anything about an Exige well driven by the chairman of CL though . What those who were there missed was my 'off' in my final session. I collected a lot of grass and fortunately missed a pretty solid tyre barrier by about 4ft. Chris, it was a less than perfect demo of lift off oversteer (video replay has now been analysed) and I'll bring it to the H&C, so you can all have a laugh.

Just got up to get going...I had it planned for today as well. Thought I'd check to see if anyone was gathering chez nous for the run down. Bollocks!

I suppose the only thing to keep me from being really pissed off is the fact that I wouldn't have bothered yesterday (given the rain).

That hasn't worked - I'm thoroughly pissed off - and so is Gail who cut short her weekend with her mom & dad to come for a rare spin in Stripey with me, and I woke her up at 6am on a Sunday morning for FA!

Oh tits! It get's worse - Gail's gone back to bed, so I thought I'd look for an alternative venue:

Despite the rain it was still an enjoyable day to spectate. There were still plenty of interesting folks/cars around and the action in the pool, sorry on the track, was at times thrilling.

I took a number of pics, with an early decision to use my LensBaby. So if you think that the focus in these is a bit odd don't worry - it is.

Secondly I've recently switched to mac and I'm having some issues with colour. Before I post more pics can someone PM me to let me know how these first two look? They look fine on my mac but a bit muddy on my PC. I really need to get a Spider or something to calibrate my monitor.

I'd had it down for Sunday for a long time but have no idea why (senility has been suggested), as Sy's first post definitely says Saturday 27th. Now what were we saying when out on the track-emmmmmmmm something like "lift off oversteer difficult enough in the dry - suicidal in these conditions........" Glad you didn't dink anything - will defo look forward to the vid - oh did the footage with me in the car come-out more importantly that spectacular slide of that Elise????

Did you get any pictures of the parade lap by any chance and what about the red S2 with the hood down in particular?

I'm pleased with the video but the battery had gone before the dark red Elise went off, which is such a shame . However, there is a nice piece from when you were with me of another red Elise doing a graceful pirouette on the first lap in the wet. I'll try to get the whole footage onto DVD and bring it to the next H&C meet.
