I hadn't realised it was you posting Monty, I guess I was too busy wiping the puddle up off the floor. It looks even more like an old beans tin from above.

Apparently it helps with the flow :smt102

The shock of how low to the ground the rest of the system was took my attention off how bad it actually was :smt100

That is completely awesome . I trust that when you return it and if necessary insert it where the sun doesn't shine, it will be sideways

I can only think that Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was a formative influence on the misguided fool.

Think I might go for this one myself instead of the PECO one. Its so bad its good. At least they'll be able to re-sell it - to a ned with a Nova or Corsa

It's the best laugh I've had for ages

Got a new Boost gauge for Pinky which run`s up to 20 psi. Since Dico doesn`t know what he`s boosting we did a quick test on the BBR beast and boosted to 19psi which is 1.31 bar  . Told u his car was quick. Not bad for stock turbo LOL. Just makes u think about all those who have fitted a bigger turbo :?

Now the thing is IIRC the BBR has a little bleed valve which is fitted in the vacuum pipe and also bypasses the BSV. On Paul`s the plastic bit looks like it`s been melted (paul can we have a pic) and we think it`s doing nothing so we fitted new pipe without the plastic bit and the car seems to run the same. So was the plastic bit just to extend the pipe? :?

Next test will to put the so called BBR plastic valve back on and see what it boost to.

The thing is his car has ran like this for years and can hold boost with no ill effect.

The white (ish) 'melted' bit isn't the bleed valve - Several previous posts have suggested this, however it is simply a straight joiner to by pass the BSV - cheap or what?
The 'bleed valve', or restrictor as BBR call it, is an aluminium plug with a 'calibrated' hole. See attached for a 2mm version. It should be inserted into the rubber pipe after the joiner where it re-joins the turbo intake pipe next to the dustbin. How did they get away with over £400 for it + FCD??
I suspect Dico either has none fitted or has one with a bigger hole.
Dico, please check your air to fuel ratio  and post a pic of your plugs after a hard run
BTW I think anyone replacing a BBR setup with a mountain chip needs to make sure any restrictor is removed - comments ESM?

Dave,

We suspected that the plastic part was just a joiner, this one was a T piece and one end was melted closed  But there is no other bleed restrictor on pauls so it`s maximum boost, so i don`t know if that part was ever there :? Even thou Paul has been driving this for 3 years at 1.4bar with no ill effect think he`s going to fit a bleed valve for now just to turn it down a tad untill ESM comes out with his new chip and then he`ll disconect the FCD.

ps how did the pipe work fit to that restrictor? as there seems there no spout to push the pipe on to :?
