Hi

Where did you have it fitted? Also did you have to have fitted a new header rail seal. BAS only seem to supply S2 Hoods, Your car appears
to be an SE not S2. I have just replaced the header rail seal in mine. Hood at moment is in good condition, but for anyone wanting to change their hood to a different colour and are a "newbie" your advices would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

They use a sub-contractor to fit their hoods. All seals came from Trim Technology.

Can we change the hood without replacing new seals, especially the header seal? Will taking off the old hood damage the seals?

John,
I expect you can no longer get SE hoods. S2 hoods are a fine replacement. They are just an improved version of the SE one. Should fit no problems.

I can't comment about the seals.

I changed the roof on Pinky 1 (pig of a job) and u have to destroy the header seal to remove the old fabric, the other seals are fine.

The weird thing is the previous owner of Pinky II had the roof replaced (not Trim tec) and they never replaced the header seal :? Don`t know how they managed that.

I tried contacting BAS www.bas-international.com , they quoted £358 excluding seals and fitting.

Seals are £352 from Trim Technologies.

I also tried Aldridge Trimming www.aldridge.co.uk who quoted £629 supply and fit but again without seals.

So I ended up buying the hood & seals from Trim Technology for £500: www.lotuselancentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8172

Just so we could have a more complete list. CabrioWorld.

Many colour from this company in 2 types of fabric to choose from, Stayfast and Sonnendecke ($493) (Original)
MORE HOODs

Anybody know the difference between each type of fabric? Is Mohair better than Sonnendecke? :?
