Local garage knows sod all about cars, so the blue snotter passed the MOT yesterday! 'Rear footbrake and handbrake efforts low and just legal' - Bloody cheek!

Do you want me to bring a laptop?

i have just negotiated a early finish for next wednesday, :shock:

so i will be there, will contact mick to see about a mini convoy.

i will bring my laptop & lead so we can enjoy the dvd, i will bring an extension lead incase the sun is out & we can be in beer garden.. :!:

Good turnout last night, despite the localised thunderstorms that some of us encountered, drove home with the roof down though.

I just wanted to say thanks to all for making me welcome last night and providing lots of useful advice as I search for an Elan of my own.

It was great to see so many Elans in one place at the same time (what's the collective noun for a group of Elans? A flock? A gaggle? A pride?), and to have the chance to give them all a look over.

I'll keep you in touch with how it's going, and probably be asking for more advice!

...and I'm sure I'll be back at the H&C, once I've perfected that secret LEC wave (courtesy of Chris T).

Hello gents, hope you are all well. What's the BBQ thing, are you doing a spin and scoff this year?

It's a bit far for me to come to the H&C in the evening, however if you are doing something on a weekend I'd try and get to it. Be good to catch up. I'm currently getting over the shock of the cost to get my car through it's MOT!

Hello Chris,

New break pipes all round, old ones were corroded.
New front discs
New pads
New break caliper parts
Steering column UJ joint

Labour was the main cost, they had the car for ages which was pretty annoying. Most frustrating thing is the the breaks feel exactly the same as before, the same with the steering, feels the same.

They've buggered up a connection somewhere on the alarm, so now when I arm/de-arm it, the lights only flash on one side. It's not worth taking it back though as I'd have to pay to get a taxi to work if I left it at the garage again. Just putting it down to a bad experiance and trying not to think of the overall cost. Will get the alarm lights sorted next tiem I take it somewhere to get it serviced which needs doing.
