Big Erch will be up at Ballater way at his shooting lodge hopefully making plans for next years Scottish LEC venue/pish up !!

Archie isn't making Knockhill, so he has kindly offered his place to me.

At the moment I'm planning to head up early on the Sunday morning as we need to be there before 8:30. I was going to phone Bob Dickson and see if he needs a hand setting up the stand etc. When I last spoke to him he sounded as if he couldn't be bothered setting it all up.

What's your own plans for arriving on Sunday Mark?

That will be 2 Big erchs in attendance, I was going to use his name to get in on a freebie :lol:

But due to still not receiving my ball joint from an allegedly reputable supplier at the erse end of the M6 (serious fcuk up) i'm Elanless. Unless it arrives 1st thing tomorrow.

So I may be there with the Plebs and Chavs in the Custard flying machines.

Mark, Glesgy-Gairloch return, lots of 80mph cruising, 42 mpg overall, was impressed.

I would not be surprised if Dickerse couldn't be ersed to set up the stand. Par for the course, been area leader (30 yrs) for a clique of donut-elan twats and does SFA else

How right you probably are Scott (ehm, I mean Archie). I suggested a few of us help him set it up but he didn't appear any more enthused by the idea. Mark and I are going to try and get there just before 8am so I guess we'll find out what the score is then.

This event sounds better and better. Read in the Scotsman yesterday that, in addition to the 20 cars on the Club Lotus stand, there will be a big classic Lotus contingent. This will include:-

an ex Jim Clark Lotus
two Lotus 17's
two Lotus Cortina's
a Lotus 18
a Lotus 69 FF1600
an F2 Lotus 59

Not to mention Jackie Stewart giving it laldy round the circuit in a Tyrell F1
He was practising yesterday and getting to know the circuit in a Ferrari

Weather sounds great and the Spitfire flypast will be worth seeing

Alan AB2CV and I will be representing the M100/LEC and I'm going to make a placard with one of the LEC posters left from Donington just to highlight our profile

Car back on road. Just washed and now for a quick polish.

I'll be there about 9. Will blag my way onto the stand, "er steward, there must be some mistake, booby definitely said i was on the guest list "

Mark,

I'll be at the Gyle centre for 7:30 sharp (slightly before). I've arranged to meet a couple of friends on the way up - meeting them at Halbeath (Junc. 3) at 7:45, and then it's on to Knockhill for 8am to kick Bob up the erse and get the stand sorted. Hoping there wont be a big queue to get in at that time.

Looking forward to seeing your LEC plaque - I have a coulpe of old cereal boxes and some sticky back plastic if you need it ;-)

Things up in Ballater are going well. Solicitors keeping me very busy tho

I still haven't got round to fitting the new exhaust yet! I tried kwikfit and they wanted atleast £60 but could be more if they have trouble - bandits.

Hi Arch,

Yeah, we both got to take our cars on track for a 'parade' lap. Basically, knockhill racing circuit was turned into the M25 as everyone filed on for a go. You could hold back and let a gap open up in front of you before flooring it for a hundred yards or so though (I have some video footage hopefully to come of me going round the hairpin, then coming to an abrupt stop before running into the Ferarri Dino in front of me :shock:

)

edit - I just re-read that and it makes it sound like I actually hit the Ferarri - I stopped in time, it's ok!!
