Postby DeanG » Tue 04.07.2006, 01:02

The registration forms and associated Lotus Owners Gathering (LOG26) information are available at www.lotusltd.org. Besides the traditional concourse and Auto-X there will be a two day track event. Yahoo!

OK, how many are planning to attend?

Postby DeanG » Wed 30.08.2006, 21:30

I know of two M100's that will be at LOG. DaveM will be there with as will we. Who else on the list is going? Doing the auto-X? Doing the track days?

If you have not done an auto-X with other M100s you are missing a thrill. You can learn a great deal by watching others drive a similar car.

Remember, we have a Special Interest Group (SIG) M100 breakfast planned.

Bad news on my end, everyone. It appears I'm not going to be able to make it to LOG this year. While the car will be done in time (I hope to write more on that in my project thread in a few days), I've had a number of personal things going on this summer and fall that are combining to make it near impossible for me to get away. I'm just sick about it, especially since I had committed to presenting at the M100 breakfast, so my apologizes to those folks doing the organization.

The news here is not all bad, though I'm sorry it has kept me away from the site so long. Hi to all, and I hope I can get up to speed again soon on what's up with you all.

Sorry to hear the news, Dave. I'm planning on caravaning to LOG with Lee Clark (he'll bring the 102B and the Mark II they just acquired). Lee plans on driving the 102B (ex-Mika Hakkinen) at the track day. FYI, the Barber collection now stands at 39 Lotuses. My wife's birthday is 10/13 (Friday of LOG) so you can imagine the price I'm having to pay for attending-it involves $$$ and several favors stretching into 2007.

Send your Elan anyway along with a credit card for gas and we'll take good care of her.

What time is breakfast and where?

Elan Breakfast

Postby DeanG » Sun 01.10.2006, 00:49

I will try to fill Dave's shoes in the M100 department at LOG. My knowledge isn't as great and our car isn't as slick but it is well traveled. The M100 Elan breakfast will be Saturday, October 14 7:00AM - 8:00AM in the hotel restaurant. Very informal, yawl come.

Eight M100's in Attendance

Postby DeanG » Thu 19.10.2006, 00:15

We got back from LOG 26 late last night. We had to fly as the poor old M100 CEL was announcing lots of code 54’s. The drive from SE Virginia to Texas was too risky given the distances involved and the non-Lotus friendly areas that we would have had to transverse. We had a great time per usual.

There were 8 M100’s in attendance (6 red, 1 white & 1 green). Nine people representing 3 countries (USA, Canada & England) attended the breakfast. Much of the talk was about the relative merits of various parts. The items most in demand seem to be shocks, exhaust systems and chips.

Unfortunately no M100’s ran the auto-X even though it was raining on a wonderfully long fast course with good grip. It would have been interesting to see an M100 up against the new Exige S. One M100 later did one of the track days.

There are already four M100 owners planning on driving their cars to Colorado for LOG 27.
