LGM, I believe I may have just sourced a direct replacement for the flasher module that supports LED lighting. If so, this would eliminate the need for any resistors (and the accompanying heat they generate) when installing LED bulbs. I plan on instlling and testing it Saturday morning and will post back here when finished.

As for LED's in general, I sourced several LED aftermarket bulbs that work perfectly with the current Elan tail/brake/turn light setup and I'm sure they'd do the job with the Elise lights. The post in in the "Projects" section.

Oh, by the way, I "may" have an interest but it would be purely dependant upon the look of the final product and final cost. I've got a lot of projects on the go right now and my funds will be depleted soon.............

I'll post this in the Parts Cross Reference Section as well but I can confirm that the Trico EP-26 flahser module works perfectly on the Elan as a replacement for the Hella OEM module. It also supports LED lights right out of the box so there's no need to install resistors to fool the flasher module. That's good news since they do give off a fair bit of heat. I tested with the resistors in place (so they act like incandescant bulbs) as well as with them out acting like LED's. So, no problem if the Elise lights are LED (or you to make them LED).

I asked the seller where they came from and he replied saying he bought them direct from Korea but gave no further info.
As he is trying to sell his car I didn't want to pester him any more, but replied saying if he could send me a link I would be very grateful.
Does anyone on the Forum know about these?

Regarding the above.......have just had a reply.
Apparantly they are KIA lights and Kia won't sell to the UK.
He knew someone in Korea and called in a favour to get them!

Yep, The Kia lights have been around for awhile. Lotus sold the body design to Kia in the early/mid '90s and Kia made several "refinements". Me personally I'm not a big fan of the Kia lights. If you read my previous postings you'll understand why.

On with the lights. Once completed I will be selling the housings, not the red round lenses. Those will still need to be aquired from Lotus. After having a long heart to heart with one of my other Carbon fiber guys. we agreed on how I should be moulding these. With that settled, and with one of the two sides nearing completion, I will be making moulds in the coming weeks after my wedding.

I've also just completed the last (hopefully) coat of gel-coat to seal the housing. After a quick sand and test fit I'll post more pics of what the housing looks like both with and with out the lotus lenses. The next day or so should be very productive.

New photos of primered prototype. The housings sit flush with the bodywork and flow almost seemlessly with the contours of the fender They are made entirely of glassfibre. No bodyfiller or bondo. They are "notched" on the inner upper corner to "flow" togeather with the centre section. Opinions?
