Hi everyone, Ive been quietly browsing through these forums lately and you've a good thing going here.

Just purchased black '92 Elan se turbo a fortnight ago after years of wishing for one, absolutely delighted with it, has a good documented history with it and only 44k miles to date.
Unfortunately having only covered about 400 miles in it, things went a little pear shaped last week, blind summit on a single track road, I had a choice between the rocky verge and a new vectra - chose the off road option n/s/f suspension pretty much ripped off the car and some light body damage to f/bumper, n/s sill and n/s A panel. All in all I think the elan and I were very lucky. Decided not to inform Insurance as would probably be written off, and have decided to go down the visa route - outch! This puts a whole new outlook on elan ownership, but it has'nt kurbed my enthusiasm for the car, just makes me more determined to get it back on the road (before partner see's visa statement!). Will be getting lots of tlc during winter months to make up for lost enjoyment time. Hopefully up and running again in a week or so - fingers crossed!

Anyone else own an Elan M100 up here?

Big Erch is near Ballater, Andy is in Inverness and JohnW and Andrew Ennis are in the Aberdeen area.

And I'm quite often up in Speyside in either Rambo, Jambo or Vanbo !!

Doug's auto-translate device is obviously not working at the moment. We sometimes have to translate for our transatlantic cousins. (Especially Stevo's posts).

John

PS: Doug, as far as I can remember "score" has got something to do with women. I think somebody started a thread on it recently.

well, that I can make out, but Stevo is from another planet all together. I still feel bad cause when I was talking to him at Donington, I'd have to say "huh?" about 10 times in a row for him to repeat what he's saying so I could understand him

I think most people just smile and nod to avoid the above embarassment.

Howdy doode!

Shame you didn't get it in time to meet us at Callander Classics!

See you around hopefully.

Have fun!
