Just back from Le Mans 2006 and already planning for 2007 so a new thread.

I'll be placing my initial order for Le Mans tickets for 2007 in the next few days and of my discounted allocation of 6 at least 4 are already accounted for by the regulars I traditionally go with, I am willing to order more tickets at this stage but need a firm commitment to order more than the 6 I will order anyway. This is for the camping tickets (one per car) which are difficult to obtain, not the race entry tickets which are easy. I will be asking for Maison Blanche campsite tickets rather than Karting Nord (this will be my second choice) as it seemed a better organised and more structured site (it also had the best party on Friday night!).

So if you want to go to Le Mans in 2007 please post your intent here. I know a number of people have already said they want to go in 2007 but please post here anyway as it helps me to keep track and provides a reference for the future.

Well it would be rude not to.

Hoping to take the Elan next year, which would mean a 2nd pass for Volvoman support vehicle but bit too soon to say at the moment.

I noticed the MB passes are 20euro more than the KN, though thats insignificant if it keeps the pikeys out. When I was in MB 5 yrs ago it was open to the road but now they have that concrete wall around it.

Hopefully the Lotus GT will make an appearance.

You're right about the extra cost and that may be a factor (72 Euros for MB rather than 44 for KN this year). However, the site is inside the circuit so you can't access it without a general adnission ticket as well as a camping ticket and you can stand on the banking and watch racing from the campsite (as you used to be able to do at KN until they removed the bank about 3 years ago).

The Equipe Butler is planning to travel down with the Fiat Coupe and an Elan (black, hopefully :roll:

As in previous years once I place my order I probably won't hear anything until early '07 when I will be asked to confirm and send some money so no committment needed until that point. At the point I am asked to pay I will ask for some money from all as given the number of tickets I am ordering for '07 I am reluctant to carry the cost for too long.

As you may remember General Admission Tickets are easy, you can get them once at Le Mans. You only need a camping ticket for each vehicle so unless you plan on taking a car you don't need one. I leave it to you to see if you can blag a seat there and back :-D

Dates confirmed 16 - 17 June.

Pits being extended so traditional 55 cars can start. Paddock and village being extended and completed this winter.

New gravel traps and curve at tetra rouge.

Saw the dates on the ACO site and also on Club Arnage, however they are still subject to confirmation as the ACO have to get the local council to agree the road closures. I think 16/17 June are the most likely dates but they won't be 100% confirmed until November.

Chris,

Sorry, slow in spotting your message above. I haven't ordered you a ticket so I can either see if I can add another ticket to my order or see if there is a drop out as we move towards the date of the event, in which case you can have first refusal. The critical issue is a camping ticket, which you only need if you take a car, admission tickets for the race can be easily bought once there. Whilst I'm sure you want to take your car if a camping ticket proves difficult you could always see if anyone else going has a spare seat, more complicated however if D is planning to go as well as 2 seats would be required.

Dave thanks for your kind offer but the wife and i will probably make it into a longer break by going down a bit earlier and coming back later. It sounds as though i might have missed the boat re the campsite though.
