I was about to ask the same question.
Is anyone staying over? I could drive there and back the same day, but if there's a few beers to be drunk then count me in!

If I can get an idea of numbers I don't mind ringing a few B&Bs/Hotels to see if there are rooms available, although don't expect me to pay for them

Count me in. (I need to drop off some nuts and pick up some pieces)
A little more info;
It is on Sunday 12th only - from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Tickets are £5 for lotus club members else £6 - they are available on the door.
So, does anyone else want to meet up on Saturday evening for a sherbert or two?
Cheers
Jim

This place
http://www.croftonthegreen.co.uk/
has got singles for £32 and doubles for £48 on the 11th. It has off-street parking - and it's 5 mins walk to pubs; a few minutes more for Chinese/Indian/Thai restaurants.
The Holiday Inn on the M40 seems to be £49.95 for the room alone.
any other suggestions?
Jim

For the benefit of newbies like me, could someone explain what sort of things there'll be at Stoneleigh. For example, I was looking for Car Mats, Shower Cap, Lotus Wheel Centre Caps and Wishbones (and probably a few other odds and ends, e.g., bolt for hood pivot). Am I better off going here or to Donington?
Thanks
Regards
Mark/.

I'll be going for sure!
Donington is a bigger event show wise but I think you should still get the parts you are looking for at Stonleigh. Will be a great chance to meet fellow Elaners too!
Men are like a fine wine.
They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the sh * t out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

Mark, it's sort of like a Lotus only autojumble. I found very little stuff there for the Elan last year, which is why I won't be going this time round.
However, if WillB is coming along then he's likely to bring along a few shower caps with him, and if South West Lotus are there then they do some very good pattern wishbones.
Car mats and wheel centre caps are like rocking horse poo - you're better off scanning eBay. But you never know your luck...
Like Stef says, it's a great opportunity to meet the Elan clan and compare shiny bits (or even shinier bits to see where you're going wrong)!

At this point Muley is probably about to write me a very snotty PM about taking his money and then running off with his parts, so I'd better come clean and admit that I was just kidding about not going! Hope I didn't give you a heart-attack Jim!

Just checked the calendar and unfortunately I can't make that weekend as the children have lots of things happening. Never mind - I'll definitely go to Donington.

I'll see what else I'm doing but will try to get to Stoneleigh if possible. The M100 was the featured car last year hence the good turnout and the LEC stand. This year the featured car is the original 'baby' Elan so I don't think we have any more to other than pitch up and have a good time. Like Neil I found very little for the M100 for sale last year that I needed (although I did buy a hard top!) but if you need specific stuff and identify a supplier such as SW or PMs they will usually bring it to the show for you to collect. If I go it will be largely for the social elements rather than a hunt for bits (I have more bits in the garage waiting to be fitted than I'm likely to find at Stoneleigh).

Ok, looks like the interest in a few beers on the Sat is as follows:
1. Ailwyn
2. TheElanMan
3. Dave Eds
4. Muley
5. Stevieshag
6. Steph
7. Enright
8. Nige
If anyone else is interested PM me and I'll add to the list, also if those on the list can PM to confirm whether they require a room I'll get numbers for that too.
Suggest we book a restaurant (I'm assuming we're planning a meal) and hotel rooms asap.
