Dave,

Bad luck. There is a technique for SE'2 (but probably not S2's) which I could have e-mailed you. However, I have just replaced my motherboard and have not reinstated my e-mail archive. I suggest you look out for some of the names on the thread to see if any are online and PM them. I forwarded a few on to F1 Lotus, Algirdas, Gary and Gazza (I think).

If that doesn't work, Delta has a technique but it involves drilling and I can't find it so maybe admins have (wisely) removed it.

If you get no joy, I'm just over the bridge and I've got a sledgehammer!

Check out here for keys. I seem to remember that Algirdas was sending some blanks over but I can't remember if they were boot or not.

Good luck,

Geoff

Well spotted Mark.

Dave, it would be advisable to edit your e-mail address off your previous posting before the e-mail harvesters grab it and you get an inbox full of spam! Let us know how you got on.

Lost boot key

Postby algirdas » Fri 13.10.2006, 05:07

Dear Dave:

I have sent over a handful of boot and door key blanks to Jim Butler aka "Muley" and they are available to you and any other member of LEC on terms that are too good to be true.

Plus, if I can get away to Stoneleigh, I will be bringing over enough key blanks to last all of us a long, long, long time.

Sincerely,

Algirdas

Dave

There are two formats of boot key.
When you retrieve it, check whether it has a small a 'D' or an 'H' engraved on it.

I hold the 'D' variants (also kindly provided by Algirdas).

Dave, i did a guide for getting into locked boots without causing any damage. If you still need it shout and i`ll e-mail it over to you.

Actually while i`m thinking, did someone say that it didn`t work with some models? or was that just in the Fed ones?

Russ,

Mark has already sent a copy of your guide to Dave, so hopefully he will be able to get in.

You're right about it not working on some models; Ailwyn and I cannot get into our S2's, so it looks like it's an SE/Fed tip only.

Lost boot key

Postby algirdas » Fri 13.10.2006, 21:10

Dear Russ:

Jim Butler aka "Muley" has a handful of the "D" and "H" blanks at present. Please contact him for details on how to get some. After Stoneleigh, he will have even more.

Mr. Butler has agreed to be the "keyman" for the LEC and thus will be the keeper of the blanks. That is, for those blanks (door and boot/trunk) that are tough to get outside of the US.

Sincerely,

Algirdas

Could someone send a copy of the guide to me please - I don't have an immediate need, but would like to know just in case the need arises.

I have a Kia Elan that I shipped from Korea to South Africa.

Thanks in advance,
Ron.

Al,
Not sure why you've posted that on this thread, but here is my Christmas good deed :

Don't loose your boot key. Especially if it is your only one. Always make a habit of NOT putting the keys in the boot when unloading !

Merry Christmas!

lost boot key

Postby algirdas » Thu 21.12.2006, 21:34

Dear Gary:

I just posted it here as a reminder. I will keep the club members in boot and door keys for so long as they promise to remember the poor at the next following Christmas.

Muley has a boat load of both types. Why don't you get yourself some spares made?

Sincerly,

Algirdas
