Nice refurb.
Did the 'ballance' weights have to go on the outside rim?

Was waiting for someone to mention that lol, the answer is yes on the fronts as my Willwood calipers only have about 1mm clearance

. the balancing machine calibrates for the inner and outter edge, so the more u move the weights in the more weight u have to add

A no win situation.
Just wondering maybe i should of gone for the 15" Wilwood kit

That's what my mechanic said when he did my Wilwoods. He put them showing as his machine wasn't too safisticated!
But i later went to a friend who owns a tyre bay and he's re-balanced them with the weights now on the inside.Though admittingly there are more weights but out of sight.
Roger
ps They still look superb though Monty!

To have them on the inside on the fronts they would have to be fixed approx 4" in from the back of the spoke

cause of the wilwood calipers which the mechanic said he couldn`t do.

Wheels look very nice, exactly what I want to do with my spare set, but in Midnight Blue. It's about time you had them done, so you can sort out your suspension, don't forget to let me know your setting.
Sinclaire's did my weights right behind the spokes, but they have a very clever machine that apparently tells you to move the tyre a certain distant either way, so requiring less weights. Only a few in the country, so they say.

Was only talking today about this to Avonvilla, how everyone seems to want my car, but if and only IF I ever come to sell it, probably no one would be interested.

Gazza,
http://www.tires.com has the same machine and it works a treat. I'll have to include a picture of the 7-spoke chrome wheel/tire package I bought from them for my OZ-Capri. Litterally hundreds of wheels are available for that vs. the paltry number which have the correct offset to be kind to the Elan's wheel-bearings.
Strive for perfection in everything. (given time)
Take the best that exists & make it better. (given inclination)
If it doesn't exist, create it. (God did)
Ignore what I say. (good advice)

Manage to work on the car today, so checked the suspension to make sure there was nothing loose, adjust the height slightly. I`ve also fitted the 9.5mm spacer required for the new type rear top arm to the hub.
Also managed to fit the Mutts Nuts, only fitted 3 per corner as i`m still using my wheel locking bolts. Before i did that i ran a Tap through to make it easyer for the studs to go in. BTW i used lock tight
To top it off got my wheels fitted.
ps if anyone is after my old set off aftermarket wheels PM me.

I tend to agree. I thought they looked pretty good off the car but I'm not so sure now they're on. Sorry.

That was just a quick photo and i don`t think it does them justice, just didn`t want standard looking S2 wheels.

Hmmm...slicks on the S2s and road rubber on the 17s.

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Looks good
They'd look outstanding on a steel-blue car; so you're wise to keep the locking bolts on

Dave,
I`m sick of taking wheels on and off as it is (thats why i`ve fitted studs), besides my intention is to only do a few trackdays a year (thats if i feel the car is ready)
+ how would i get to the track with slicks on

if i got pull my the police thats 3 points per tyre, so that`ll be my licence gone.
