Having just bought Dicos new bodyshell to reshell my black SE Im toiling with the idea of a possible complete colour change!
Yes I know there aren't many black ones out there, but Im in a position where I could go for a complete colour change because I would have to paint the bare shell anyway.
Im stuck between doing it black again or my other choice is a vauxhall colour - Ultra Blue Pearl. Enclosed pic of this colour (photo doesn't do justice) it has quite a good flip, you may have seen it on some new corsas and astras.
I know black is scarce but this cool colour on an elan would be a one off - your opinions would be appreciated

1. BRG with Yellow Stripes please
2. Black with Charcoal stripes or the reverse.
3. The blue looks cool -- similar to the darker Lotus blue on the Elans already, so it wouldn't be a colour not before graced on an Elan.

Jim, there is a good range of colours in the elise range you might want to look at them, at least it would be lotus. Also they did an elise in Midnight black, which was metalic, with a hint of silver in it, very nice, very nearly did my car in it !

I vote for going back to some of the original elan colours.....'like doin in old school man'
particular favourites are
roman purple (aubergine in the elise range)
colorado orange (the fav colour of lambo)
pistachio green (medina but more incipid...a definate lime colour)

I'm thinking of a respray next year...
was considering Lotus 'Krypton Green' - bit of a statement, but probably would be the only Elan of that colour and kind of reminisant of a Stratos.

Though I am partial to Monaco White...

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Yep, chrome orange, with black or anthracite wheels.
(That being said I have heard of problems with the original orange finish used on Elises. Might pay to use the Ford colour like on the Focus RS?)
If I had the time and money ....
Jim
p.s. A Gulf colour scheme would be good but that light blue reminds me so much of early MX-5s...

Descision made

Keep it original 5 litres of deep black ordered today. Anyone else out there wanting paint for their car, I would strongly recommend buying before january because solvent based basecoat will be outlawed by EPA legislation in january and in my opinion the water based replacment isn't as good by a long shot
