Dan,

It crept up a bit quick again, so not sure! Let us know if you get the tyres sorted and are definitely going and it may sway things.

What about a Bristol area get together sometime in July/August (not necessarily with Club Lotus). Is anyone else up for it?

If the car is back on the road I could be persuaded to cross the border :)

I've got myself a new one of those job things... which means I should now be free Tuesday evenings :D So Dan, or any of my other locals... Do you fancy attempting a get together first Tues in September?

I'll just be back from holiday and could be tempted. Sarah was talking to someone in the village with a RWD Elan and he goes regularly, so may come in convoy!

Don't get me wrong... I've been exploited and toiling to date. But now I have a 'new' source of exploitation (job) that means I don't have to work every Tuesday evening.

You can't run one of these cars without from income support you know :P

Hi people :D :D :D

I'm new to this site, having just (last week) got my Elan!!

(mrsdapinky still thinks its hers, and I'm sure she'll have something to say on the matter!)

We're down in Weston-on-the-mud and my be persuaded to meet somewhere!

Er indoors reckons classic car clubs are for sad old gits [like me!] so I'm trying to change her mind.

PS Thanks to the admins (and contributers) for a great site - particularly Sy V for the great literature downloads.....I only wish I'd found this site a long time ago

Here goes for the :smt100 bit (grovel)

There are some jobs to do on the car before last week, let alone this next week, and some of the bits missing are like rocking horse poo - in particular the 'B' post caps....what i need is to see one (borrow one perhaps ??), so i can look into getting something made - I'm on the wrong thread I suppose, but forgive me, just this once.

Welcome Dave and Mrs Dave. We haven't actually managed a meeting in the Bristol area yet and the weather has drawn in a bit.

Paul is down your way - guess you haven't bumped into him yet but he might let you look at his B post caps.

Caps were produced in carbon fibre but work seems to have got in the way of the important stuff!

All the best,

Geoff

 Ok guys don't listen to a word he says!! It's my car and I have the V5 to prove it (well its in the post anyway).

I agree with Hubby that this is a very informative, helpful and downright cool site. Not having been a Lotus owner before I don't have much of a clue about them but thanx to your site I am learning lots!

I don't agree wuth Hubby about his nasty Triumph thingymabobby or as i like to call it "his shed!"
:smt016

Anyway thanx again guys and no doubt Hubby will make a loving and romantic reply to this. :?
See ya soon Mrs Dave (otherwise known as Angie ) :P

As anyone knows, being the registered keeper is not the same as being the owner!
If she wants to drive the car to Tescos (not wishing to advertise, it could be asda, sainsburys or Happy Shopper) then thats fine, but on a track day...........
I didn't even see the boost guage move on her test drive!

Still, it keeps the car in good condition for me!

Thanks to Geoff for your earlier (sensible) reply, i followed the link to the thread you indicated on the B post caps, and after reading expectantly though it, got to the end only to find (or so it appears) that Darren is no longer in a position to supply :(

If anyone knows differently, please advise me, or its back to the original idea of having some made.....
Now, where did I put that fairy liquid bottle, egg carton and sticky back plastic.....

[if that means nothing to you, I must be older than I thought - If Valerie Singleton could do it, I'm sure it must be possible]

Cheers for now, Dave

In order to cease Geoff's complaining I though I'd post here and look for interest in a meet this side of Xmas.

The only dates I can't do at the moment are the 12th & 13th Dec, but any other time should be ok. This is likely to change very quickly though as things crop up.

Any other takers?

A.

What me moan? No!

What about the Club Lotus meeting at the Compass next Tuesday? Hopefully, you could also drop in and see the roll bars.

I was thinking more of an LEC meet, get you, me, dapinkies, surfer phil, and anyone else who'd care to come along.

Again!?

If Dan is out next week and Ailwyn on the 12/13, that leaves 11 & 14 then we get into the week before Christmas. What do people think about the 11th or 14th? Let's not try and sort the venue out until we can agree a date!

I'll have to check my work committments on Monday, but at the moment, either date should be okay for me (& Angie, if I allow her out of the kitchen! - women should always be in the kitchen, unless, of course, the washing machine is kept somewhere else!!!!)
