Also, I know from Motny's (well that's what his avatar says) vid that your car works, but just exactly how well does it work now?
Have you had it rolling roaded?

No engine bay pics yet  I keep telling myself to take some but never get round to it.

It was quick prior to any upgrades that I did due to the BBR kit, now its probably quicker but as before I can't get the traction down, even with the Quaife and new tyres :?
Obviously forget 1st gear but you would think you would get at least some traction in 2nd but theres none at all, kinda daft really. Think I need Alans chip to tame it a little, that BBR is fabulous in 3rd, 4th and even 5th but the other two gears forget it.

Have'nt had it rolling roaded yet due to the traction issues :?

Just hold on there, i'm off to the garage with my camera and if they turn out ok (its dark here) then i'll post 1 or 2 :)

I was looking forwards to seeing the blue cam cover and hose combination, and it certainly doesn't disappoint.
Well done.

I'm planning on making one of those, too. So...one of each, eh?

If you would have told me what you were doing as far as the all blue, I'd have likely thought it was too much. But darn does that look nice! :smt023

That valve cover realy looks great. The match of the valve cover to the body color really makes the engine bay look soooo nice :D

I've just spent 10 hours on the Beast :)
Been looking forward to it for a couple of weeks but after a couple of hours the old joints began to ache :) In fact they were aching before I started :?

Managed to get around two thirds of what I wanted to do done :?
Which consisted of replacing the rear flexi brake lines with Goodridge braided ones, cleaning the front Wilwood pistons and waxoyling the front and rear suspension. 10 hours! Although it did include a trip to Halfords and lunch consisting of two burnt meat pies (I just can't cope when the wifes away :) )
Changed the fluid for 5.1 but it still needs a rebleed.
At least the rear wishbones stood up to a good prodding with the screwdriver. The top channels had a fair bit of flakey paint on them, particularly inside the channel, gave them a wire brushing and a thorough blasting with waxoyl. At some point in the future all the rear suspension will be being replaced. maybe I can get a couple more years out of it yet.

Never got round to replacing the seats or fitting the shortshift kit

Oh, and I replaced the rotor to hat bolts with polished stainless ones 8)

Where did you get the polished S/S bolts from for the brakes?

Gary, they were purchased via Matt/PaulP from a company in the states called south coast stainless (iirc). They weren't cheap - £30-£40, but i'm figuring they will last for at least one disc change and therefore should bring the cost down as the Wilwood ones need replacing each time.
PaulP was able to order them direct and they set up a paypal account for him/us :)
I'll post a pic next time I have the wheels off, which won't be too far off as the brakes need another bleed.

Dico,
Sounds like we've been doing the same jobs but in reverse order. I've had the drivers seat out to replace broken clips and generally add some padding and fitted the shortshift kit.

I've still got to fit the rear s/s hoses, give the front Wilwoods a good clean and get the rustproofing touch-ups done.

And I agree - I ached after being unused to hours bent into awkward positions under the bonnet. Never mind - it's all progress.
