S2 No.285 - Looking at buying it, is this car known to LEC?

Hi,

I'm viewing Lotus Elan S2 No.285 this weekend, seriously thinking of buying it (or at least making an offer). Is this car known to anyone on LEC? It's Norfolk Mustard Yellow, plate M100 FRN. Currently advertised on eBay and has also been on pistonheads:

I've spoken at considerable length to the current owner and although the car has a few minor issues generally it seems like a decent car.

Negatives... it has a gap in the service history from 1998-2002 where 12k miles were covered but nothing to prove it, but otherwise before and after that it has good service history , although stamps are missing (but there are receipts to prove). Also has had a poor quality rear bumper respray and one of the headlights isn't quite aligned correctly (but hey it's a handmade lotus!).

Overall it seems OK, but just wondering it the car is known to anyone on LEC and if you can offer any futher advice??

I think the car looks stunning in the pictures and was keen to view it myself - but never seem to find a free half day to go and see the car. Good luck with the viewing
