Now that Karen has let the cat out of the bag so to speak, as I thought I would let Karen tell you all, it looks like Andy is about to be the proud owner of a blue Lotus Elan S2 N936 RPA.
As Karen said I looked at the car with/for her and I could find very little wrong with it, the brake lights were faulty which Peter (the current/previous owner) knew about and was getting fixed, faulty switch to be replaced + new MOT. It did have a few paint chips which I think just about all of them have in some form or another but because it is a blue car and the primer for blue is white, tend to show up more than other colours and a slight scuff on one wheel. Everything worked, windows, mirrors etc, hood original (as was just about every thing else) clear rear screen, A post seals good, turbo and gauge were fine etc etc. As I said I was really pushed to find anything wrong with it and the current owner having had it from new knew the full history of the car and it had actually 60500 miles on it not the advertised 65000 so a bonus, it drove really well and not a rattle and just one squeak, from the seat but I may have had it back futher than I would normally.
Now here a thought if Karen is in agreement how about a group of us turn up with our Elan’s when the car is unveiled to Andy in Oxford possibly Friday or Saturday next week?
