The N/A came without Power steering, it was an optional extra...

So what's rarer...

From what I have previously read, PAS was an optional extra on the NA, but most buyers paid the extra for it. Personally, I would have paid extra to NOT have PAS because it takes away some of the feedback & allows you to get into the bad habit of turning the wheels without moving.

I have seen somewhere on here that about 15 were built without it.
The only 2 I know of belong to Oliver & Stuart Saunders.
Bob Brown's was another but he's now fitted a PAS rack.

Hi all,

As RIP says, I have a Norma without PAS.

The rack was made by adwest, and I believe is bespoke to the Elan.

I have protected mine by packing it with lithium grease!

Having driven SE's, I have to admit I would prefer to have PAS.

My reason for this is that the PAS rack is higher geared, which immediately felt better to me.

Having said that, no PAS definately makes cam belt changes easier!
