Jacking Bracket

I'm currently trying to address my rusty outrigger problems, the real difficulty is in regard of the outriggers is the refabrication of the bracket which supports the jacking point as there is no reference to the component in any of the manuals that I have searched. I do believe that they are not handed, Nr & Off side are the same.

Here is a couple of pictures of my Nr side bracket, the tapered edge is the bottom (nearest the road!) and I believe should have a 'footing' to support the jacking point

The thickness appears to be 1.5mm but the crucial dimension I'd like is from top to bottom (ie right to left of the photo)

Does anybody have any dimensions, drawings, serviceable brackets; anything that will help in getting these things fabricated?

You'll have seen this drawing in the manual Pete,

Why not just have similar brackets made rather than the same ... using new holes ... whatever you come up with will be at least as good as the originals,and probably better by the look of them.

Do the jacking discs bolt onto the bottom of those brackets?

Interestingly, Ray, I hadn't seen that one! I thought that I had a comprehensive list

Nevertheless, I think that you are probably right and I'm just being timid, I guess that I'll have to fabricate something myself - yet another new skill, metalworking, to master

Oh, and yes I believe so, only in my case there is no 'bottom of those brackets'!

When I do mine I will be looking at using some square or rectangular steel box section - it won't matter if it's bigger or uglier as no-one will see it.

I don't have access to a tool maker anyway, but a welder should be accessible.

Yes, that had crossed my mind, there are some surprisingly well shaped off cuts on ebay that would suffice but I'd really like to match the original fit if I can.

I took sone advice from a well respected source, on this matter. It seems that originally there were no holes drilled in the Cills, it was only when Lotus became exasperated with trying and failing to stop the water ingress that a decision was made to drill the holes as a part of routine maintenance, ie, as vehicles came in to dealers for repair this remedial action was undertaken, the decision being since they couldn't stop the water ingress they may as well let it out!
