Yes!
Underneath the power steering pump there is a small wire with a connector on the end enclosed in a rubber grommet. This 'tells' the engine management computer when the steering is under load and compensates by raising the revs.
Chances are, yours has fallen off the terminal on the pump.
If you can get the car up on jacks or a ramp, then have a look from underneath between the radiator and the engine block to the (cars) right hand side of the exhaust. You'll see the pump and the belt driving it. On the underside of the pump towards the engine block there is a small spike sticking straight down which is the connector for the wire, which should be dangling free. Push it back on & it should work!
