I've just been quoted £150.00 plus VAT for a pair of TRE's, which I find just increadible. I've read the past thread which suggests these are a special part number with no cross reference part available and I can't understand why Lotus went to the expense of developing a bespoke part - no wonder the cars never re-couped the development costs. Rant over, but has anyone bought TRE's recently and could you suggest a cheaper supplier please? I know it was another time, but as a comparison, the same parts for my Elan Sprint would cost £13.90 plus VAT from the same supply source. Many thanks, Phil

Lotus Aftersales March 2011 has them listed for 18.00GBP each + VAT Part Number A100H6024S

Search for the details, but basically, you contact Lotus, tell them where to send them, pay them by credit card and the TREs will go to your dealer for you to collect or have them ship them to you.

Hi John, just spoken to Lotus this morning and the parts sale offer is still running, which means I can buy A100H6024S, outer ball joint (track rod end) for just £18.00 plus vat and delivery to dealer - a massive saving compared to £75.00plus vat, for which I'm very grateful to you. The parts list sent to me lists 252 units in stock; I don't know whether that is the current position or whether this is the original list at the start of the sale - probably the latter. 252 was the quantity on hand back in March. There are less now, but it is worth asking Lotus even if the original count was 6. Not many people took advantage of the sale. Lotus will eventually just scrap the parts as they get into production of the newest models they will be selling. Glad you were able to save a little bit.
