chassis restoration techniques

any recommendations on successful techniques for restoring the main chassis ? - its aprox 25% surface rust and original coating but also a fair bit of rust developing inside the box section at the rear end into aprox where the tub rear mount plates are
I,ve ruled out hand tools grinders and wire wheels - just not going to get into the inner corners etc.. adequately
I don't like sand blasting thin section plate - and i,m not convinced the sand blaster will get into all the nooks and crannies on the inside
so i,m thinking of a cold chemical dip to descale / de rust ? any chemical recommendations ?
then what would you advise on an initial rust preventer coating ?
Galvanising is not on the list - unfortunately as i,ve got a place local to me that specialise in this, but - again issues with heat and distortion
i,ve got plenty phosphate and twin pack epoxy paint products for final finish

otherwise if anyone has a spare chassis laying around in good nick - at a price somewhat less than the RRP

I have am early type chassis hanging around in my garage, It looks in pretty good nick to me
