Rack gaitors/bellows need replacing help please.

The gaitors on my stearing rack have disitagrated. I have new ones and attempted to fit them. Do I have to take the who track rod end off?? If I do this will I have to get the tracking redone?

Any advice will help

Yep I would imagine the whole trackrod end comes off. Either count the threads or tippex and just set the locking nut back to the original position and it'll be fine.

I take it that is a job to be done on real ramps to get the leverage?? How long have you had your lotus for Dico and remined me again where it is you live. If its not to much trouble could we meet up sometime so I can pick your brains on a few issues?

Ramps would make life easier. Quite an easy job to split the track rod end but i've never atempted changing the rack gaitors.
I'm in Middleton, junction 19 off the M62. I've owned the elan for 3 1/2 years now.
