So you were eating your Marmite sandwich, and then you just had to write this?

Where abouts on the car is it Barry? I'll go and check mine as it is similarly early in the production run.

It wasn't me by the way, there was absolutely no confusion about my parentage. ;)

Hello Ian
Inside the boot - behind the rear numberplate. I was ticked pink when I found it!

OK, well mine will see daylight in an hour or so for a local meet with some likeminded nuts at a local inn. I'll have a look. A few people have mentioned the assembly line used to autograph the bits they'd done and asked me whether mine was similarly marked.

This time last year I was over in your fine country, spent a week in Canberra on business, a couple of days in Sydney and Adelaide as well. You must think it a little odd that over here we have Santa Claus outfits in the shops with long trousers and sleeves... I couldn't get over being out and about with people having their office Christmas parties in hot, sunny evenings, eating in the street.

I was born in the UK Ian. I grew up just down the road from you in Mottingham, but I have lived in Australia a bit more than half my life now. Easily the best decision that I ever made!

We have Santa and copious amounts of fake snow. And the full roast turkey lunch on Christmas Day - which is a bit bonkers really given the temperature!
Increasing quantities of seafood, particularly prawns are sold at this time of year, so maybe people are waking up...

Soon to retire to the south coast of NSW where I can lavish care and attention on my 1991 Elan. For the past couple of years I have been telling everyone that I have a Lotus, so I am looking forward to actually driving it!

Enjoy your beer mate!

The only snow we usually have is fake stuff.
A few years ago the TV news kept trying to tell us we had a white Christmas. I think we had a handful of flakes, none of which settled. It's just usually bloody cold.

Well, if you're in Canberra and have a passing interest in beer, I hope you have been to the Wig and Pen, a couple of blocks away from a big Novotel we stayed in. They are a micro brewery and old fashioned pub in one building, right among the office blocks. Well worth a look for pale ale. :)

I actually DROVE mine today, so have another smile to last me for a couple of weeks until I will have time to repeat the fun. Aus seemed to me to be a very nice place, once you get used to the fact everything seems very expensive. Guess the wages are similarly higher to compensate, but I didn't see my Pound commanding much while I was over last year. Expect I'll be back next year sometime. Get your Elan out and play with it, it likes it. :)
