Motorfair and motorshow photographs wanted.

Would anybody happen to have any photographs of any Lotus Elan M100's at the time of release, specifically at any of the motorshows please?

Hello there,

my names Paul, and i may be able to help you. i was an elan fanatic when it was launched and i traveled to earls court in London to see the elan (as well as the panther solo - remember that one ). it was on the panther stand that i bumped into Norman Wisdom (but i digress). i took many photos of the elan and other lotus cars, and i also went to the NEC one year and again took many photos. i remember that at one show the cars were red and at the other they were silver. i will look in the loft this week and dig them all out. if you think they will be of use, let me know.

That's brilliant news, I have several photos of the car "on the stand" but non of the second car "on the floor". I'm always trying to find out more about the early cars, I look forward to seeing your photographs.

Don't worry about the thread being in the "Former Lotus employees" thread, my logic was that most of the early photos have people in them...and most contain employees lurking in the background

I better stock up on pop corn, can't wait

thanks for the clarification on who can post in this section. i have found some of the photos (must find the others this weekend), and have scanned them. here is one when the red lotuses (lotii?) were on show.

i will post the others tomorrow night, as i am off out soon, and hopefully over the weekend if i find them, i will post the others.

well, after searching high and low in the loft, i finally found all my other photos of the two motor shows i went to. amongst all the pictures of esprits, excels, and the dozens of other makes of cars, i have another 6 pictures of the red and silver elans (3 of each). i will scan and post them here on monday night. hope you will like them.

well, as promised, here they are. not brilliant but quite viewable, and yes, that is me in the red elan (oh so many years ago ). i remember the silver one was on a rotating plinth at just below eye level. it looked gorgeous.

at the show when the red cars were there, you could go on the stand (only so many at a time though), there was an old bloke dressed a security guard who stood behind a velvet rope, to let you on the stand. he could tell i was an elan fanatic, as i bent his ear for over 10 minutes about how much i loved it, and eventually he let me and my girlfriend on the stand before it was time to let others on.
