Sorry, but I think the only way you're going to get this car going is to have another running Elan next to it, and to swap parts until you find out what stops the working one from running. It's been subjected to so much butchery that even if the original problem was fixed, there could be lots of others that have been caused since that are also show-stoppers. Such a shame.

Jim Clark S2 - 1/12. The one with the Yellow spoke wheels . No 613 on dash (pushed in to factory in wrong order 615 on tub)

Are you still trying to sell this Elan? I'm looking to get one and if the car is in reasonable nick and it's only the electrical issues stopping it running I'd be interested.

I think it was sold on Gumtree. It wasn't in good nick anyway so I don't think you'd have been interested. In fact outside a scrapyard it was in the sorriest condition I've ever seen an Elan in.

The only thing it had going for it was the mileage, and that was simply because it couldn't be driven anywhere!

I wasn't put off by a non runner, but I really don't need a restoration project. I was hoping with it being fairly close to me it might have been sortable. But so far the so called 'good ones' have left a lot to be desired.
