White SE, 45K, BCA Preston (SOLD)

Postby Jamie N » Wed 03.09.2014, 22:19

On the 15th of September there is a white SE with 45k going through the auction at Bamber Bridge, looks like a really clean car, this could be a great opportunity for someone on here as Elans do not command anywhere near the money they once did at auction, plus the time of year, most traders wont want to sink money into convertibles now so potentially a great bargain could be had, not many white ones around, especially with those miles.

You will have to register on the site to login and view, but anyone can turn up on the day and bid, surely someone on here would want this!!.

Jamie,

Just tried to view the car (or, indeed, the auction) - but can't get any info on 15th Sept catalogue list.......

(And to head off the obvious first question, yes I am registered on the site and was logged in)

EDIT:-

Found it :D

Looks quite tidy from the pictures, and DVLA website says it's taxed until end of October, MOT 'til 8th May 2015
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Haven't been to a car Auction for a good while so might pop down and watch this one go through and see what it brings :D

Very unusual for sure, there was also a NMY at a BCA sale a few months back, never any in Scottish Auctions though!.

Although not an Elan owner anymore I was in the hall at BCA Preston while the white elan went through today.I had a good look over the car beforehand(was tempted to buy it if the price was right),and it was a very nice car indeed, even though there was evidence of paintwork here and there and the rear lights did not appear to be geniune(maybe some off an Alpine)

The car sold to an online dealer bidder, the price it made was quite a suprise.

I was hoping to pop across there today but due to some family issues I wasn't able to get there, does anyone know what the Surprising final price was that it went for ??

I believe it went for £8,750  I didn't see the car in the flesh but looking at the pictures they had online it looked tidy, didn't expect it to make that value though

My goodness, that's a hefty price for an SE, Maybe White is the new NMY :D , It does seem to be commanding a slightly higher price premium of late. Thanks for the info marsellus.

Either way, it's a crap advert!

How can it be unique if it's one of 200???????

(but I suppose every car on the road is unique - no-one else has the same VIN number :? )

They have now dropped the "only 200 made" from the advert but have added "unique". Very strange

Lets not forget Guys this is a Motor Trader, they are always going to bum up their cars, its what they do, its what they have always done!. Strangely enough it's ownership is the same as mine, 1 owner from '91 to 2013. Spooky. :D
