Yes I agree. I always enjoy watching our cars whenever and whatever they are on. Pleasing to get positive publicity. It wasn't really informative though was it. I did finish watching and felt part satisfied, not much meat on the bones.

I quite often turn to Toby's Youtube videos when I'm pondering doing some work on the car. Often to watch him do different jobs but it contains a view of what I want to do, removal of the front/rear bumper for example. Anyone know what happened to him? Does he still have the M100? I know he didn't post much on here but I really enjoy his videos and his style of presentation

too about Toby's Restoration Series on YouTube, they are excellent and a really valuable source of practical information on most jobs you'd ever consider doing. Hats off to him and his efforts to catalogue the whole thing - it was clearly a serious amount work, even without having to film and edit the whole thing. There is no substitute for actually seeing how to tackle some of these jobs and keep a sense of humour at the same time!

Most Wheeler Dealer shows are dangerous to newbies that don't want to read the manuals. What they show is mostly fiction.

I totally agree, some good stuff but a lot of bodging. My pet hate is when they use 2 hammers to remove a ball joint. Use the correct tool ffs and I don't mean the one you use with a hammer.

It was entertaining to a point, but shows like this or air accident investigation wind me up because the interesting factual stuff is outweighed by the need for drama to keep the audience happy. They did show an affection for the car though and it looked good in the driving sequences. £1000 for an exhaust?

We need access to their spares supplier for cheap suspension and engine parts.

I found this series by accident and used it during my recent HG change. Having done most of the jobs already, it's amazing how cheerful he is and no swearing! When I dismantled my front suspension, my German neighbours learnt a lot of bad English words. Excellent videos.

I bet they used some tape to hold it up for the rest of the filming.

I had to put a huge bend into the mounting arms to finally get enough friction to keep the visor up but still let it move down freely by hand.

Not many Germans in Scunthorpe! Did my brakes and suspension in Germany when I was living near Frankfurt.

US prices certainly seem a lot higher than UK prices.
I felt they had to skip over many parts.
I wondered why they didn't even bother trying to clean the rear window. I was also looking forward to them struggling to get the roof fabric on & off the frame, but they never showed this.
It was nice to see them showing the car positively. They are like this with any car they fix up, but it was good to hear Mike say it is the best handling FWD ever made. (It is the only one with a chassis designed exclusively for that purpose).

Didn't they say they found a NEW CAS for $106.00? Good luck in the real world. I am not aware of any around now other than from Lotus at £303.27 which before shipping is $425.00.

My biggest worry with that car would be that after all the brilliant work was done with the exhaust (I always suspected that they twatted it at the factory to cure the overboost!), they didn't port the wastegate. Maybe it would be on the verge of avoiding overboost anyway, what with the extra cat and sticking with a 2" bore, but it would be close, and highly amusing if they caught Brewer nutting the steering wheel on the test drive!

The crushed section that they mentioned is part of the CAT and not the rest of the exhaust. That way Lotus didn't have to do anything different for the Rest Of World cars which only misbehaved if the exhaust was tinkered with (IMPROVED).

Nope, it's on the exhausts of UK cars too which weren't equipped with a cat.

Sorry, I never saw the UK version and it isn't obvious in the parts diagrams, but the CAT is the crushed part for the FED car which is what they were improving...

The attached pic is an S2 front pipe with cat. The SE has no cat, just a squished pipe.

You're right Jim, they've jumped on it and closed it down for our region due to copyright issues.
So if you haven't already seen it in the UK, now you won't until it gets televised.
What a shame - I was hoping it would help the reputation of the car with those not already in the know.

Without wishing to encourage anyone to do something illegal, immoral, or just wrong.......

..... the Youtube video is still live in USA (I haven't looked anywhere else, as I found it and did what needed to be done.....).....

.... so if you have a VPN on your machine in the UK, and route it to work in USA, then you can still view it.

(If you don't, then i can recommend Tunnel Bear as a great free VPN.... the free version is limited to 500Mb/month, but you can upgrade it if needed)

Then it is a simple case of downloading the video with 'Video Downloader' plugin in Firefox (other plugins and browsers are availlable ) and you have it forever....

.... it is 167Mb as an MP4 file, so easily fits within the monthly quota from TB - and it would take 28 seconds to download over my home connection....... not that I did, of course, as that would be wrong...... but if I had, it would have
