Being as it is in Cockermouth, my fathers home town, I feel strangely compelled to make a bid rather in the same way I always have to have a pint of Jennings whenever I find myself in a pub guesting the beer - a sort of homage!

But won't hold off on the Jennings though, Honeybole is a lovely pint. Friend of mine lives in Cockermouth and works as one of the brewery guides. Well that is when the brewery and her house aren't under 4ft water as was the case 3-4 yrs ago. All OK now though.

Did I heck?!?!? No, pipped at the post and also for a 'spare wheel retainer' that someone won with a last second bid - much to my annoyance Buy hey ho next time eh?

The downside to eBay is that some are bidding because they need a part and others bid to put them on there shelf in case they need it in the future, but that's life!

Funnily enough, on the very night that I lost the bid I consoled myself down the pub and, eerily enough, the guest beer that night was Jennings!, creepy eh?

Came across a copy of this whilst browsing the book stalls at Goodwood the other week, priced at £75.00 it stayed on the shelf, it was mint but for a book which was originally £25.00 that just seems a little steep ....................or is that the going rate and is it worth a read ?

I belive SWMBO paid around £50 for my copy (not mint as it had spent some time "at Her Majesty's Pleasure" in Dorchester Prison library) but definatly worth getting a copy if you can

Well after doing some searching tonight I have found a copy in the states, £37.07 plus postage which in total equates to around £50.00 so well pleased, plus the book looks in really good condition

I believe most that wanted it eventually purchased one. I don't think the demand is anywhere as great as when it first came out. Good find though!

Lucky you Pete!! Cost me £60+ from Amazon about a year ago.

Maybe the last page is missing so you never get to find out the end! The rest is a good read though.
