Classic & Sportscar

Postby TheBard » Mon 16.07.2007, 03:34

The July 2007 of "Classic & Sports Car" has a "Sports Car Supertest" where they try to decide 'what offers the most thrills on a budget: a '60s icon or a top modern classic?'

The Elan gets a good write up, holdings its own against the MGF, MX5, BMW Z3, and more traditional opposition such as the Alfa Spyder and MGB. I won't spoil it and announce the winner here, but it is well worth the read...

Oh, and the reckon the Elan prices can't stay this low much longer as the car is so good, but do advise you check the rear wishbones for rust!!!
Ford Fiesta Mk2, VW Polo, Golf GTi, Lotus Elan, Honda Accord Coupe V6.

Calypso Red Cali #7683 - Bought at 29,000 miles, and sold at 75,000miles.

What really pissed me off was that they referred readers to CLOG for Elan knowledge!

I know sorry......
I did tell him about his error......
I was amazed when I read it....you might go to CLOG for the 60's elan info but there's only one place for the m100....right here....
I'll see if I can get some more stuff in print.....for LEC not CLOG
next opportunity will be the gold cup at oulton as I'll be meeting the ed and some of his chums over the course of the weekend
