tracing chassis no's

Hi looking at buying an elan chassis no SCC100ZT1NHH16449. I do not have a copy of the service manual was told it's a 93- 94??? from my limited knowledge this would make it an S2? but it has 15" wheels? is this not an origional version?? there is little chance the wheels have been changed......

The N after ZT1 suggests it's a 1992 making it an SE thus 15" wheels.

Is the date id right? are you sure it is calendar years and not car manufacture years Aug to Aug? (as in the uk registration year id.)

According to the Lotus manual, it refers to 'Model Year', which i would assume to be year of manufacture?? (perhaps starting about November when manufacturers try and re-vamp the model ranges??

Thanks for the responses... looking at the car and from what I know about cars on the island it being a 1992 would seem correct and looking at the info posted would conferm this. there is no SE badge on the back but looking at the state of the car i'm surprised that the boot lid is still there.... I think I have found the previous owner that origionally imported it so gonna try to ask a few questions...

Still trying to meet the current owner so havn't seem the reg document... he agrees that his price is too high and is willing to negotiate. but seeing as the car has sat idle for 2 years he just isn't in a rush to sell it.... it's just a yes I will sell it... just too busy today answer...Grrrr.. some people here just have too much money !!
