Rubber "A" Pillar Seals.

These are EPDM rubber (not sponges!) and work exceptionally well, although they do have a "lip" it is not the fold over type, they work in exactly the same way as the original seal in that the pressure of the glass onto the seal body effectively creates a waterproof barrier and the lip sits on the edge of the glass.
These are actually easier to fit than the lipped seals as they are bit more forgiving if you have slightly loose windows.

I have 3 sets up for grabs and each one has been fitted and tested for water ingress, all performed 100% watertight, and that was without even being "mastic'd" onto the pillar, they are a nice tight fit into the original seal channel and only need studded in top and bottom and a bit of sikaflex to keep in place.

The beauty of these they are very clean, smooth, and tidy up that area greatly and don't retain water ready to burst open when it freezes, it really needs to be seen for real just how much rubber A pillar seals transform the shabbiness of the originals, not to mention no more soaked knee

Anyway when you consider these are a hundred times better than the nasty sponge they must surely be worth at least a similar price, so I will put them up for 95 a set plus postage (or I will fit them for you if local), first 3 posts will secure. I know for a fact if I put them on Feebay they would make a LOT more so here is a chance of a bargain.

Not very easily im afraid, these are from a job lot, specific origin of vehicle is still unknown but asides from that they are quite heavily modified seals so even if we found the car you wouldn't be able just to fit them straight on the Elan, 2 hours of horrible fumes and fine black dust sees 1 pair transformed into a perfect fit for our Elans, but its nasty work and not without its hazards, I now have a constant lung pain and that's wearing a mask and working them outdoors!, so to you guys that get them I really hope you appreciate the effort that's went in to them.

Jon, most likely any water coming in at the top will be the front header seal, what happens is water soaks into the sponge (well that's what sponges are for eh ) through all the little cracks and tears and it becomes waterlogged, the water then runs through it and more often than not exits around the area at the top of the A pillar seal and drips into the car, if you grip your header seal at any point near the ends and give it a squeeze I guarantee it will ooze the juicy stuff!.

We really need to get that seal done in EPDM as we all know the factory one is rubbish.

It might be worth putting a bit more sealant on the top connecting strap, then put clingfilm over it and close the hood overnight to mold and dry to the required shape. But im sure you will agree once you have the glass closing in the right position on those lipped seals there is no way water can get past them.

No, MGF seals are no use, ive checked them out as have some others on LEC , apart from the profile being miles off they are made from a hard compound rubber, difficult to work.

Steve, That's what was/is in the pipeline mate (as alluded to in the other threads) but im surprised at the lack of interest. As shown in the pics I posted in the Hood section, the solution is here right now!, It is currently possible to surround your door glass with EPDM rubber and make it completely watertight (and look extremely tidy into the bargain) but the response has been lacklustre, maybe its not that important?, maybe its been dry enough lately and folk have forgotten about LEak Central Im not sure but it will be a fair effort to collate all the info and pics / details / etc and post it all up if there is little interest, Don't get me wrong though I'm perfectly happy to share what I have developed but if nobody is interested in taking on the task it will be a lot of effort on my part.

A little feedback would be great, let me know if its worth bothering with, so is anyone actually up for taking on the challenge and doing it?...
