We are saddened by the death of John Miles, an important member of the Lotus family. Competing in Formula 1, alongside Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt and Mario Andretti, his engineering contributed to the development of the Lotus 63 and Lotus 72, and five generations of road car.

JM did a lot of development work on the M100 models . Promo photo used for S2 shows him driving a Palacio S2. He was an ace driver of a 26R Elan in club racing before he joined Lotus as development driver but in F1races... usually drew the short straw and was driving Chunky's bad idea... 4WD or gas turbine so not vey successful , but was pretty good in sports cars.
