Help need asap . my heater fans stopped working due to snapping the heater housing nip . the bottom one next to the slider control. can some one tell me how to put a new switch . do i have take the whole dash out??. even if i put the switch back it would not fit in place as the protruding plastic bit is snapped . will i have to take the whole back panel dash housing off . i should have been very careful but hey it snapped . but i need help now and some good advise on how to fix this as im getting really cold .

The temp control moves a rod which is accessed from the passenger footwell. This rod simply moves a flap which mixes the hot air with cold. If you climb in the passenger footwell head first you should be able to find it and bodge it fully hot for the meantime. The only other function the dial has is that at fully cold, it cuts the water off to the heater matrix, but assuming you didn't break it off at fully cold it should be ok.

When you find a new switch, you should be able to do it all from the front and the footwells although I've never tried. You get reasonable access from the stereo opening and the ashtray.

Candles.

PS I hope I've focussed on the right problem here as your post isn't hugely clear as to what has snapped.
