Heater controls

Hi, I've recently purchased an M100 I've already picked up lots of useful tips from this site which have help me immensely however I can't find anything on how to remove the heater control panel in the dash. Can anyone tell me how to get the thing out of the dashboard please? Additionally I am replacing the heater control valve, I'm sure someone suggested a volvo item as a good option is this correct if so which one?

Have you got behind it yet by taking the ashtray out ?
