PM's stuck in Outbox

I have tried to PM two people, but both messages appear to be stuck in my Outbox!
The first PM was posted two weeks ago, but is still there.
Is this anything to do with me having to "Log In" again just recently?
Help- need to contact Monty urgently!

A PM will appear in the outbox until whoever you sent it to has read it. Once it has been read it will be moved to the sent box automatically. While the message is still in the outbox, you are able to make modifications to it (or even delete it) prior to it being delivered.

However, with a modification we installed on the forum last week, PMs can now be read (at least partially) in your email notification. So it if was a short message, it could have been read there I guess.

So, in example, if it takes a month for someone check their message, you could just delete it as the whatever you wrote about could then be insignificant.

Thanks Liz for the fast reply.
I did not realise that the PM's remained in my Outbox until they are read by the recipiant!
At least now I will know when the PM's disapear from the Outbox and appear in my Sent file that they will then have been read.

yes got back yesterday, it takes a while too catch up if u`r away for a few days
