missing photos

I have for some time been frustrated that I'm sometimes reading posts where people are commenting on pictures that are not there for me to see, such as the current Korean hardtop thread. Any idea why this happens? It's not the case that I can't see any pictures - I was just looking at the new indoor car cover pics, for example.

This problem is not isolated to one computer - happens to me at home or at work. I use IE in both places.

Recently I posted a picture in one of the Pictures threads. A day later, it was not there. A few days later, it was there again. There was no icon indicating a picture that failed to load or a bad link.

If people delete the photos they have posted on certain threads, they will not show up. Additionally, if they are using photos uploaded to a different site that other site might be down when you're viewing the thread. However, pictures not showing are mainly due to them being deleted.

About your own photo: Did you uploaded it to this site or elsewhere? If it was uploaded elsewhere, then the site may have been down just when you were looking. If you uploaded it to this site, it could have been a server problem or something, I suppose (though not all very likely). It could also have been rather slow to load. Unless the day it did not load was on Sunday? Our hosting company was having some problems then.

You need to be signed in to the forum to actually see the photographs, so it's always worth checking you are signed in, especially as it will list what threads you have or haven't posted.

As Liz said there are also other factors involved.

Problem solved. I never knew that being logged in would affect whether or not I could see pictures in the threads. As I mentioned, when not logged in I can see some. I logged in and now I can see the Korean hardtop pix (including the hideous rear wing).

The ones you can see when not logged in are hosted outside of LEC, the ones hosted on LEC don't show unless logged in due to the forum modification we use to allow them to be hosted here.
