Picked up a 91 Isuzu Impulse RS Turbo AWD today, GREAT daily driver once it's fixed up.

You'll really like the Isuzu. I used to have a 91 Impulse, though it was unfortunately not the AWD turbo variety. Still, it was a blast to drive, and a good-looking car.

What's nice about the RS is it's as light as the Elan, has the same power and AWD. It just puts the power down so nicely.

This one needs engine work and a turbo to get her back on the road.

The dampers are Pro techs from SJ. The springs are reguler 2 1/2" ID springs, 600 pounders.

Bob Brown machined the top mounts for them and I had a local shop machine the adjusters..

The hammer was to remove a dent from the shell, did you know this car was made of fiberglass?? LOL

Steve, what was the ratings you of the springs you put on the rears?

and how did you find the ride?

I`ve went for
Front- 9" 450lb Main, 2" 150lb Helper
Rear- 9" 225lb Main, 2" 150lb Helper
and wonder if i should of gone for a higher rating but the ride is hard on those country lanes

I`ve also just added a 2nd rear anti rollbar to test for Bob so he can work out what increase to have the new ones made, but need a trackday to really test that. Certainly does seem to turn in better.

The rears are about 330 pound, I think it gives the car a real nice balance. Quick turn in and it takes a
set real fast, rolls way less as well. The ride is a bit on ths tiff side, but really not much worse then stock.
If you keep the dampers set low it helps alot.

I'm going to try taking the front bar off and see how it does, the springs should be stiff enough now to pull it
off. It should put the power down better off the corner w/o it. The car got a Quaife over the winter so that will
effect things as well.
