The Little White Submarine...

Postby Jamie N » Sun 15.06.2014, 20:29

Had it's monthly mega valet today so I decided to take a couple of pics, whats the opinions on the Satin black wheels folks?, I think it definitely gives a different perception to standard but im not certain it goes, some days I like them, some I days I think I will redo them silver :D .
Going to replace the seats as they let the wee thing down , most of it is in phenomenal condition so it makes sense to bring the seats up to the standard of the rest of the car, im thinking red S2000 seats again like my pacific blue,or the red and black ones if I can find them, but someone suggested white leather!, mmm not too sure about that, anyone done white leather?.

I like the idea of red and black S2000 seats, but I don't like those black wheels.

I'm sort of opposite Neil on this, I DO like the black wheels (but then I've just had mine powder coated in black, so I'm a bit biased!) - not sure if red/black seats would look better than just black - what colour are the carpets?

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

The wheels look good!

The black/red s2000 seats would be a good match, I prefer the older style without the hole in the headrest personally. Dark Blue seats wit the white might look quite nice too

That's the ones I like in the lower picture Jon, think they would suit as the carpets are red and really clean, there is a version of the S2K seats in a darker burgundy red, not keen on those at all. Plenty S2K breaking nowadays so imagine they will be readily available.

I like your black wheels, in fact like you I have a white Élan, in the summer I put on black wheels and in the winter I change to my std silver ones.

The S2000 seats are nice, but I reupholstered mine as per

There are a fair few S2000 seats on Ebay. I've been looking for a while, but I might just go for a re-trim and get exactly what I want.

I quite like these the stitch design is nice, but not quite sure they would match a steel blue car

Pete, is that red and grey leather or cloth?, difficult to tell from the pic.
Cheers for the link Steve, they look good, the plain red ones look great as well, I remember years ago I put a set in and was amazed by the transformation, I think at the time they were the first S2K seats fitted to an Elan, I just designed the brackets from flatbar, easy enough job, the hard part is finding a pair at sensible money!. :D
