I suggest you should set your camera to a sRGB colour space.

Then, even when you save your photos in sRGB, there is an associated profile to tell the program how to interpret the colours as a guide to display them. The problem is that some programs ignore the embedded colour profile info, and as a result don't display exactly the required colour.

Of course, if you want consistent results, you need to calibrate your screen and printer with a probe ... but of course as most people haven't a screen probe they won't see the same right colours as you anyway!!

So yes, in a nutshell it's a boring subject :-D

Trying not to go :offtopic: too much.
Thanks for suggestion, agree with your statements but not the suggestion - that's a bit like telling me to remove my Everest Chip. Choose that setting years ago because I have an Epson Photo R2400 A3 printer that uses 8 colours (including "Black" and "Light Black" ! .. ) and a high end (24" & 1920x1080 res') screen checked with a Colormunki, but never altered. Favourite camera is a Nikon D300, even though I have subsequent models, and I still use Photoshop CS3 (if it ain't broke don't fix it) and have all the profiles for the various papers I print on saved within Photoshop. Spent a lot of time setting all that up so been trying to remember exactly why I choose those settings...

Been back into "The Adobe Photoshop CS3" book by Scott Kelby. He says about sRGB "... pros refer to it as "stupid RGB", which is fine for photos on the Web, but your printer can print a wider range of color (particularly in the blues and greens). So if you work in sRGB, you're essentially leaving those rich vivid colors on the table."

So sRGB is lacking in the 'blues and greens' and most outdoor and landscape involves quite a bit of blue & green so I've always used Adobe RGB - probably better for 'bluey green' Medina cars too ...

Sorry for going off topic on your thread Chris, but here's another picture with a lot of blue and some green that you might enjoy .... :bananasex:

Oh OK, then I totally agree with you that Adobe RGB is a better choice for you.
Still, when you export a photo for the others to see on the web, I think you should convert it to sRGB since 99% won't see it properly anyway.

EDIT : By the way, the thumbnail version is way more pale than the full size version. The thumbnail generator probably messed up with the profiles!

It has been a hobby for a few years for me but I must admit I don't use my camera much nowadays. I don't even have a proper photo of my Elan. Shame on me!

Interesting point earlier in the page about there being around 300 left on the road in the UK...
? I thought there were a lot more than that, around the 2000 mark, or are you meaning 300 kia elans in the UK?

Hey there Chris, is it possible someone of you there in Korea start up some mash made production about hood/body seals, interior things and rear lights? I think that if someone of you over there did that, there would pop up many customers and new Elan buyers as everybody who thinks of buying an Elan considers of parts availability

Scott i hope the OP comes back with a yes .
But from memory "we" as in non Kia elan owners could not get access to Kia parts .
Kia made spares only available to those with Kia Vin numbers .
It did cause a bit of an "them" and "us" scenario back in the early days .

I hope this has changed as i would love to get some Kia Rear lights !!!.
Plus we should all be one big happy M100 shape owners club .

Sorry for the late reply, Kevin! :-D
Yes, about 300 Kia Elans are left - which are in a drivable status.
1077 Kia Elans are manufactured and now about 300 Elans (KIA Elans) left.
I don't know whether M100 is in Korea.

Cheers!

Scott: Sorry for my belated reply.
Well, there are a number of people design and dress up Elan but not a company or a start-up basis - rather it is from an individual expert/designer.
For instance, wide body Elan kit which uses wider fender front and rear, Submarine front bumper, etc. are the good examples of their products.
I will attach some of pictures of their masterpiecies.

tb10: You are right. about 300 Elans are left. About 200 Elans are imported to Japan and rest of 877, by car accidents of other incidents, been non-operable and about 300 Elans are registered in the Public Vehicle Registration Office. :D

Dear Clemo,
Sorry for the late reply. Indeed, you are right.

KIA engineers had changed power train including engine and transmission, for instance and many more.
Initially, it is natural aspiration type engine not with a turbo chargered one.
In Korea, powertrain parts are easy to get because engine and transmission are with similar breeds with KIA Sephia and Credos 1.8.

However, outside parts are not easy to procure even though KIA had reproduced Elan parts about 10 years ago one time.
A quite number of Elan owners agreed/signed of sending an official letter to the CEO of KIA to reproduce some of critical ELAN parts, and
the CEO of KIA Mr. Jeong had approved producing ELAN parts. However, after that, there were no reproduction of ELAN parts.

Hope this help you. :D

Dear Novacaine: Well, the submarine bumper was designed by a small company which it is now out of business.
However, I know a person who can design a similar product. I will ask him and revert you back soon. :m100:

Glad I'm not the only one that kinda likes it! Think I'll stick with my original bumper though. Rear lights on the other hand, that would be cool. :D

I think the blue and orange colour scheme will also be appreciated by someone!

Reminds me of the old Gulf racing colours. Personally not a fan of it on an Elan though

The Kia rear lights do look nice on the car, again its a nice modern change. Although am I right in thinking that they don't have rear fog lights built in? I'm pretty sure I've seen a Kia Elan with a separate screwed on aftermarket fog light.
