Almot finished getting the new garage ready

The lifts arrived and went together without too much effort. Still trying to decide where to hang all the artwork.

If it’a an American-sized garage, I’m envious already.

I realized that the photos I thought were uploading were all too big. I tried to upload again and still had problems so here is a link to a few shots.

Garage is 1500 sg ft with a 1000 sg ft 2nd fl. Still trying to figure out the last of the artwork locations. The to do list is to move the sandblast cabinet, compressor, alignment, lathe, mill, tire changer/balancer and other items in still. Second floor is storage, wood shop and an area for my wife.

We wouldn't call that a garage in England...more of an Industrial Park.

:D When you have to stand 50 yards away from it to get it all in the picture that what I call a proper garage and its bigger than most places where I get my car serviced. I want one.

My wife's just divorced me because I wouldn't open the car door for her!
To be fair I panicked and swam straight for the surface.

2500 sq ft is bigger than my house . . .

But you forgot to mention the coffee machine, ice cream maker, squashy old sofa and copious quantities of automotive porn

No coffee maker but there is a bid tv on the wall. You might notice the racing simulator.

The garage has been years in the planning. My dad passed down a large amount of tools and we needed a place for them. I grew up with a dad that loved to restore cars and built the garages he wanted. His tools are a way of honoring his legacy and the cars he left me to care for. Added to our own it makes a large collection that needed more space. I just brought the sandblast cabinet home today.

My Lotus collection of artwork and other items finally has a place to be displayed. The 2nd fl is taking in all the excess items of the house so we can start working on the house.

I should have made the building 5ft wider as I try and setup all the tools that I have.

Just think about the estate sale my wife will have when I die.

A wonderful tool collection, and a great home for them.

Next LEC gathering in Maryland, then

That's not a garage. It's a luxury hotel for cars

If only your M100 engine bay was as clean and tidy :poke:

Yep, and then tinkering with the Elan. And then, maybe, finishing the house!

I started with a 4 car (American size cars) garage and an integral workshop of approx 15' x 24' and once she had helped me redesign the space...this is how I parked the cars.

She took half the garage space and the workshop.

Nice garage HJ2!

That is indeed how you do it in Europe. Here in the UK we make do and mend with old kitchen units, cheap shelving, and a selection of battered old toolboxes.

What did she do with her 'halve' then?
