It polished with the emery paper.
#180,#400,#800,#1500,Finish is PIKAL

Man, I have to applaud your effort, even I would not have the patience to do that! I would just prep the part to ensure that someone else can coat it with lasting beauty. There is nothing so demoralizing as working hard to make something shine like a new penny only to have it become all tarnished or rusty a few months later. That experience will change the way you think my man, and is what separates us from other animals.

I'll take some shots of things I have in the works when I get home tonight.

Although unfinished as they've not yet been on holiday to Jet-Hot these are my water-pipes and greater-thermostat housing after a cleaning with fine glass-bead media.

I think he means he sees some soot at the tailpipe and thus his statement.

To me it looks fine and not bad -- I've seen plenty of Evos and Scoobies with soot-city out there pipes! Only if it has soot removable with your finger after a single drive would I be worried.

still, plug check might be in order if indicated . . . .

Doug, my Elan force-field didn't work so great last December, so I'm open for suggestions! Amazing I walked away from that with only scar tissue in the neck & upper shoulder area (the DR later said my post-accident symptoms were consistent with a concussion also). Probably a good thing I never saw it coming. The top is about 3-inches away from the header-rail on the driver's side and twice that on the passenger side. It just sprang open upon impact, with the windshield being twisted away from the top.
