Renewed mine yesterday, no 'valuation' bits other than me stating how much I want it covered for.....

.... still the "best" cover per £ for my particular needs and circumstances.
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

go on - click this link - you know you want to!

Renewed my Insurance with Adrian Flux and went through the valuation process AGAIN! Last time they didn't except my valuation. A year later they have! Yeah! So with nearly 118,000 miles on the clock I have an £8500 agreed valuation which I think is pretty good.
I'd be happy with that if I was selling.

only that Trevor ?

not sure you can get something in similar condition for 8500.

I was expecting your car to be insured on the 5 figures mark.

Thanks, the only way I suppose to get a true valuation is to get maybe Club Lotus to do a personal visit and valuation. But, kind words and we would all like our cars to be five figures despite their age. 'Merlot' has a lot of miles on the clock! It's a car that is driven.

well. they seem to have dipped a bit on value since i last checked.

if there's someone who knows about Elan's and would sell you one in similar condition i think that seller has the reputation... but hes car has 50% more miles than yours.....

Trevor, I will beat that and give you £8600 for your pride and joy

Realistically you should be looking at £12.5- 15K for a GVS. My Black Beastie is £13K GVS and Naefuck Custard £11K with Footman James (no Club Lotus valuation. They insured purely on my photos and service history/mileage ie 60K and 129K) Approx. £200 oa

I think you need to investigate a new insurance company :?

Mark.
do you reckon my youtube series is a suitable alternative to your service history when it comes to valuation ?

My S2 is at an agreed £12,000 with Footman James, and they will give an agreed valuation up to (IIRC) £15K without any special paperwork (unlike Flux who I was with previously).
