So if all goes well, next week I will be flying in and picking up the car in Blackpool. However I've hit a bit of a snag...
I was going to get temporary insurance from ADAC here in Germany but they won't set up anything before seeing the original registration document, which of course, I don't have yet.
Is there a company in the U.K. who can insure it for me for about five days? Anyone got a reccomendation for me?
I'm trying to avoid flying back here, getting insurance, then flying back to the U.K. again to drive my car away. This is an option but it has to be said, not my favourite one.
(Because nothing I ever do is simple and uncomplicated, I'm a German resident with a Canadian driving license.)

I'm sure esp88 (I think thats his user name) had similar issues. See if you can track him down and go through his previous posts via his profile.

The AA or the RAC might be a good place to start?

Thanks guys. The company that the AA offers temp ins. through specifically bans Canadian (also U.S. and Australian) driving licenses while apparently accepting them from anywhere else in the world. So much for the Commonwealth.

Also it's six times the price of ADAC for a month. Haven't checked through the RAC yet.
I've also got some leads over here, but unfortunately, this being Germany,
everything closes on the weekend.
I wish I hadn't cut my planning this close (again) but too late to worry about that now.
