My M100, a little longer:
15 years ago I fancied a hand built British roadster with proper cornering capabilities. After looking at the usual suspects the Lotus Elan came in the picture after the Elise was found to small for weekend trips and short holidays together.
After a long search I found this particular example in Brussels and imported it, because there were (and still are) almost no decent examples to be found for sale in NL.
This garage queen Elan is extremely well taken care off and meticulously maintained for the last 15 years (!) of ownership. Usually I change cars every year, but this one still makes me smile every time I take it for a drive.
Beautiful, pretty fast, rare, practical, easy to drive, this car has it all. You could even use it as a daily driver.
In the past 15 years, all off the Elan’s weak points have been addressed and are improved while fixing. Every component that was suspected to be worn has been replaced. All routine service was performed as per lotus manual, but usually more often than that. Lot’s of General Motors parts (Engine) so routine maintenance is rather cheap, even with premium (what else) products
